I’m proudly a full-time Mummy, looking after our beautiful daughter (nicknamed “Little Spring” in my blog) and a full time wife to a wonderful Lutheran pastor (“nicknamed “Big Spring” in my blog). I was born and have lived in Australia my whole life, but I also have a US passport and a passion for all things American… especially food and my family!

A hail storm, sewing, a dinner cruise & a clothes dryer

It's been a busy couple of weeks...

Vaughn and I visited my parents in Hamilton over the Easter weekend (He is Risen... He is Risen Indeed!) and came back with a sewing machine that my wonderful mum bought for me! To get me used to sewing again and to practice on the machine, I made some pot holders... I just finished a pair of trackie pants for Vaughn as my first official project. They didn't turn out too badly, for my first attempt!

For a community event, someone organised for ALC residents/students to go on a dinner river cruise, which was great! There was a DJ onboard so most of the girls had a good time boogying on the dance floor... I can't remember the last time I actually danced so much! The blue things in the last couple pictures are actually seagulls... they were flying in front of the boat, dipping in the water, following it along. The blue UV lights from the boat illuminated on the birds, so looked quite amazing.

My vegie patch had been growing fairly well... until the weekend before last, when we had a hail storm (after a record heat wave!), that flattened it all. Thankfully it seems to have survived, although the cos lettuce hasn't looked right since the beginning! The basil and tomato plant have really taken off - growing like weeds!

Last, but not least, the other week as I was putting clothes in the dryer, Nemo got quite curious about it. When I opened the door, he half hopped in... so I lifted him right in and closed the door. I expected him to cry out to take him out, but he quite enjoyed being in there. He looked so cute, so I took a couple pictures, but they didn't turn out, except the very last one. Vaughn laughed his head off because it looked like was thinking "I'm in trouble" or "Oh s**t" (excuse the language, but it really does look like he's thinking that! Anyway, you may not be as amused with the picture as what we were, but here it is for your own judgement! (PS, when I opened the door to let him out, he was actually quite content staying in there and I had to pick him up to take him out! And no... I didn't turn the dryer on while he was in there!):
