I’m proudly a full-time Mummy, looking after our beautiful daughter (nicknamed “Little Spring” in my blog) and a full time wife to a wonderful Lutheran pastor (“nicknamed “Big Spring” in my blog). I was born and have lived in Australia my whole life, but I also have a US passport and a passion for all things American… especially food and my family!

A Lovely Walk

Vaughn and I went out for what we hope to become a regular walk in the afternoon. The weather was cold, but clear and it was lovely catching up... half way into our walk, it decided to rain... heavily!

Amy was safe in her bubble (pram with rain cover), I had an umbrella and Vaughn had his hoodie over his head (Amy got the best option and stayed completely dry!). But we just laughed and kept walking, albeit faster than our leisurely pace we'd started with!

Getting to Welly Square, nearing home, a beautiful sight unfolded.

I am fascinated by rainbows and any shower makes it worth getting caught in! And I love God's message that He's sending me, when a rainbow appears!

A Hat

Why was I so excited to find this gorgeous looking hat lying on the ground on the way home from our walk into the city? Because Amy, 4 hours before, had flung it on the ground without me realising! I only noticed when we were at the Central Markets and was devastated as a close friend of ours had knitted this beanie for Amy when she was born!

I retraced our steps (including the Clinique counter in Myer, where I was collecting my free gift - bonus!), losing hope with each stride of ever finding it, and was so thankful I found it lying on the path just out of the city, over the bridge.

We have so many people comment how cute she looks in it, it keeps her head toasty and warm and it was hand made with love, so of course it's very special to us.

Thank you to all the people who walked past it and left it on the ground for us to find! :o)

Busy Busy Busy!

It's been awhile since I've blogged... so just to keep you posted! ...

Vaughn and I were asked to be and became godparents to Alexander, our friends' son:
Our godson, Alexander

I celebrated my first birthday as a mum!
My 33rd birthday (first birthday as a mum!)

We went for a picnic in the park with some of the other Sem Wives (and Amy fell asleep by the end of it, exhausted!):

Amy discovered and now loves her special drawer in the kitchen... she also loves being very cute when she wakes up from a nap!
Random playing

Amy started sitting forward in her car seat... a whole new world to look at while driving!

We visited Nana and Poppa in Hamilton, and Nanny and Pa drove over from Melbourne:

Amy had her first 1st birthday party celebrations - my mother's group had a group party for all our kids. What a fun, exhausting day! We bought matching tops with the kids name and year of birth on the back. They looked fantastic!

Amy now has 6 teeth and seems close to walking - she practically runs, using her walker toy as support... perhaps not long now, especially with her first birthday just around the corner!

And that pretty much brings you up to date!
