Spring
What an exhilarating time of year - I love it! There's just something in the air (those of you with hayfever would call it pollen!). I am loving the mornings at the moment. Instead of catching the bus, I am getting ready earlier and walking into work and it's wonderful. The morning is just gorgeous so that in itself is exhilarating, but then I turn the music on on my phone and listen to all Amy Grant's golden oldies and whatever else I've put on there and I'm set... on top of the world. A pity that it's work I'm walking to, but then again, it could be worse, considering I love my job!
It is such a great start to the day and my only disappointment is that it won't be like this for too much longer... as summer gets closer, it will get hotter in the morning, which means instead of exhilaration, the walk will soon feel like a portable sauna and I'll feel like anything but refreshed when I arrive at work!
I also walk home, which is a good wind down to the day. And a friend and I walk at lunch times for about half an hour. The problem with that is because the days are so beautiful, we just want to keep walking, or just sit on a blanket on the grass and just absorb the weather and not actually go back to work. So, when I do all three walks (which I actually do quite often), I'm getting 1 and 1/2 hours of exercise a day, which is a great benefit above just the feeling of Spring.
I know this weather won't last forever, but while it does, I'm going to feel exhilarated every morning, lunch and afternoon for as long as I can!
Happy Spring everybody (and sorry to those of you that get the dreaded hay fever and can't think of anything worse than this season!).
